EMMA SEARLES

Emma is a dancer, director. Teacher and choreographer from Southern Ontario. She started dance at the age of three and went on to simultaneously enter the fields of both dance and business. Throughout her competitive dance career, Emma has won many scholarships and awards in Canada, the United States, South Africa and throughout Europe. Emma has both competed and coached internationally with the Canadian National Dance Team and Team Canada Dance at the IDO World Championship in Poland, Germany, South Africa, Slovenia and Mexico. 

Emma attended Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson University) in Toronto, ON and obtained a Bachelor in Fine Arts: Performance Dance under the direction of Vicki St.Denys. During her time she worked with choreographers such as Alysa Pires, Guillaume Cote, Kunal Ranchod, Tanya Evidente and Valerie Calam. She also completed her Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Small Business at the Chang School of Continuing Education. 

Emma has a love for both the competitive world and performance world of dance. In hopes of bonding these two worlds together, Emma created and became the Artistic Director of CREO Dance Movement and VOLAR Dance Convention. CREO and VOLAR are Canadian-based dance incorporations dedicated to bonding the worlds of competitive dance, performance dance, celebrating student evolution and a commitment to their personal growth. These one-of-a-kind, convention based programs offer young dancers the opportunity to grow within multiple dance genres. Including ballet, jazz, modern, latin, West African, street styles, hip hop, and contemporary styles. 

Emma is a certified member of The International Dance Council and is an International Judge in Ballet, Jazz, Modern & Show-Dance with the International Dance Organization. In addition, she has also attained her Grade V Cecchetti Ballet and has completed The British Association of Teachers of Dancing exams in jazz, tap and acro. Emma is a competitive dance adjudicator, which allows her to bring the best training of dance to her students all over Canada and countries across the world.
